OBITUARY: KIMBERLY RUTH FARKAS
Kimberly Ruth Farkas passed away suddenly on November 22, 2023 after a brief illness. She was happily married to Erik Bogren, until his death in December 2022. Kim’s mother, Janet Farkas preceded her in death in July 2023. Kim is survived by her father, Dr. Edward Farkas, brothers Mike Farkas and Matt Farkas, sister-in-law Kris Bogren, and mother-in-law Shirley Bogren.

Kim was a smart, kind, loyal, and honest person. Growing up, she loved to bike, swim, and play tennis. As an adult, Kim was a voracious reader; she could read an entire book in a single morning. Among her favorites were titles by Tolkien and the Harry Potter series. Kim’s little dog Lucy brought her comfort and joy since the passing of her husband and mother. Kim and Lucy could be seen walking the neighborhood together multiple times a day. 

Kim graduated from Illinois State University and worked for Taylor Print Impressions as a Variable Data Specialist. She loved her coworkers at her job, and stayed at the same company for more than 25 years. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Central Illinois, The Parklands Foundation, or the Bloomington Public Library.
